One of my favorite Christmas traditions is the serving of my Mom’s Hot Buttered Rum. It’s sooo good! And, yes, my Mom is Connie.

This cocktail is a crowd pleaser and so easy to make! And, its great for adults and kiddies (just omit the Rum or Brandy for them and serve a mocktail). This drink is so great, we recommend that you drink it all winter to help keep you warm. Since, this is a Wisconsin Original, most people substitute Brandy for the Rum (including your’s truly).

Ingredients:

BATTER: Make before hand
1 lb. Powdered Sugar
1 lb. Brown Sugar
1 lb. Butter
1/2 Gallon Vanilla Ice Cream

Directions:
Soften butter and ice cream. Combine butter and sugar, then stir in the ice cream. Then freeze.

To Serve:
In a footed coffee mug, combine:

1 oz. Brandy or Gold or Dark Rum
1 scoop of batter
Fill with hot water or coffee
Stir well and top with Nutmeg (if you want to be fancy, add a cinnamon stick)
