Tuesday night marked the very first WhiskyFest held in my hometown, San Francisco. Those in the know have been enjoying this event in New York and Chicago for a decade. I was very eager for this event and I was not disappointed. Where else are you going to find over 200 whiskeys in one place (and a brandy, rum and gin thrown in for good measure)?

We just got our hands on a (sigh) small bottle of the new quadruple distilled super premium rum, Bambu. I also had the pleasure to speak with David Kanbar, the creator of Bambu. David’s resume includes running day to day operations at Uncle Maurice’s Skyy Vodka prior to it’s sale to Campari.

1 oz apple brandy
½ oz Benedictine
½ oz yellow chartreuse
Dash angostura bitters
Combine everything in a shaker with ice. Mix well and stain in to a chilled cocktail glass.
Chatting with the nice folks over at Instructables about Halloween, I was telling them how I was looking a fun, easy and adult Halloween drinking game to share with all of you. Leah, one of the great problem solvers they have over there, took the challenge and quickly came up with this dastardly contest. The game is called, what else, Trick or Treat, except instead of collecting loads of candy around the neighborhood, this one … Read more
