TRU2 Organic Gin Review

I cannot rave enough about TRU2 organic gin. Of all the organic spirits making their way to market lately, this one is the most impressive and unique.

Just looking at it you can tell it’s different. Most gins are clear because they are distilled twice — once before the herbs are added and once after. TRU2 is made with 14 botanicals and only goes through one distillation, which is why it has a … Read more

The Slow Food Bar

The Slow Food Nation Conference in San Francisco recently and spirits were nicely represented. The slow food movement is a reaction to fast food that champions sustainable, local ingredients. The showing was a nice change for distilleries, who have not been the most eco-friendly. On hand were several Bay Area producers including Square One Vodka, Anchor, George Spirits, and No 209 Gin.

A nice take away? Even large commercial distilleries are adopting sustainable processes. For … Read more

Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner and the folks at Dos Lunas sent over a bottle of their award winning añejo.

Dos Lunas Añejo is super-smooth, 100% natural ultra-premium tequila. It is double distilled and aged for eighteen months in bourbon and New American oak barrels. The bouquet is sweet with a slight spiciness. On the tongue, the añejo offers accents of warm vanilla and spiced plums. This a wonderful sipping tequila.
