This week’s drinks comes to us from the new Food2 series Drinks with Alie & Georgia, a how-to video series featuring out-of-this world concoctions. Their creations include Liquid S’mores, the McNuggetini and, special for this week’s Super Bowl, drinkable guacamole. In “Guac This Way,” Alie and Georgia bring together their favorite Mexican flavors of mezcal, jalapeños, lime juice and avocados in this frosty margarita.

With Mexican Independence Day coming up, reader Kanhaiya thought this cocktail would be appropriate to share. Tequila, Dark Rum combined with pineapple, orange and lime juice and a touch of nutmeg are combined for a tasty treat to toast the day.
It being Cinco de Mayo, the folks at Asylum.com, with the help of Joanne Weir author of “Tequila: A Guide to Types, Flights, Cocktails, and Bites along with a few thoughts from Beam Global Tequila Ambassadors Jaime Rodriguez, Jaime Salas and Eddie Perales — the guys behind Sauza’s Hornitos tequila.

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the 1862 Battle of Puebla where Mexico defeated French troops that outnumbered them almost two-to-one after only two hours of fighting! Even if you won’t be rooting for Arizona on Super Bowl Sunday, an Arizona Margarita is a great game day cocktail.
It’s made with prickly pear juice, which comes from a cactus common in the Southwest. Supposedly, prickly pear juice is great for preventing hangovers. Not sure if that’s true, but it’s worth a shot!
