Created by H. Joseph Ehrmann, proprietor at Elixr in San Francisco for their Cinco de Derby celebration. There is almost nothing better than a hint of peach in your Julep, a bit of ginger is better!

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Dickel Rye Whiskey
  • 0.5 oz. Mighty Leaf Ginger Peach Tea Syrup*
  • leaves from one sprig of mint

Instructions

Muddle the mint into a Julep cup or Collins glass. Add the Ginger Peach Tea Syrup and booze, stir well, top with crushed ice, stir until the outside of the glass is frosted, add more crushed ice.

Garnish with a mint sprig and a short straw.

*to make Mighty Leaf Ginger Peach Tea Syrup, mix equal part brewed tea and sugar. Stir until dissolved. Add more sugar to adjust sweetness to taste. 

Cool and store for up to one month in the fridge.
