Let’s kick it off with the traditional holiday party punch. Mulled cider is a simple, tasty recipe that is a great way to warm up a crowd, literally. You can even cheat and buy pre-packaged mulling spices.
- 2 oz gold rum
- ¾ cup apple cider or juice
- 1 tsp honey
- 2 cloves
- 1/8 tsp allspice
- 1 cinnamon stick
Combine ingredients in a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Stir occasionally, don’t let it get to hot. Once the mixture is thoroughly heated, strain into a mug. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Want to make enough for a group?
1 bottle (750 ml) gold rum
1 ½ gallon apple cider or juice
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp allspice
12 cinnamon sticks
Combine ingredients in a soup pot or electric crock pot and heat over medium heat. Stir occasionally, don’t let it get to hot. Once the mixture is thoroughly heated turn on low. Float lemon and apple slices on top. Serve in glass mugs.
