Spring is finally here, which means it’s time for the lighter, more refreshing pours of the year. Sandeman, the world’s leading port and sherry company, is featuring the lightest ingredient of them all: CO2.
The carbonated cocktail trend first emerged last year with extravagant mixologist techniques, such as using scuba tanks for pomp, but this year is all about catering to the at-home enthusiast. The introduction of carbonating appliances allows anyone the chance to grab the bartending reigns and add a little pop to happy hour. Cocktail Guru Jonathan Pogash teamed up with Sandeman to create the deliciously bubbly Founder’s Fizz cocktail using Sandeman Founders Reserve Porto. It’s easy to create, but with the taste of hand-crafted, bubbly expertise.
- 2 oz. Sandeman Founders Reserve Porto
- 1/2 oz. blended scotch whisky
- 3/4 oz. blood orange juice
- 3/4 oz. sweet honey-cucumber water (honey that has been diluted with water that has cucumber slices marinating in it)
- Garnish: cucumber slice
Add ingredients to your carbonator of choice and carbonate. Then pour over ice into a tall glass.
