For the first Mixology Monday of 2009, we were challenged to use an ingredient that was new. At least new to us. Wondering what that could be I landed on a bottle of Agavero Licor De Tequila. A-64 proof tequila liqueur made from a blend of añejo and repasado tequilas, mellowed with essence of damiana flower.

I combined my Agavero with a Cherry Blossom Sling Margarita mix I picked up at Williams-Sonoma. I topped it off with sparkling water and an orange wedge. My cherry sling is refreshing and light. Mmm, I am ready for spring!

Ingredients

• 1 ½ oz Agavero licor de tequila
• ¾ oz Cherry Blossom Sling margarita mix (substitute equal parts of cherry & lime juice)
• 4 oz sparkling water

Instructions

Add all ingredients in to a Collins glass filled with ice. Stir and garnish with an orange wedge.
