Baileys Drinkable Desserts Challenge

Carmel Apple MartiniWe love contests, and this contest put on by the folks at Baileys should be a blast. The contest involves Drinkable Desserts, a new trend in desserts popping-up in restaurants and bars all over the country.

“Drinkable Desserts are the latest trend in cocktails and are a great alternative to traditional desserts,” said Chef de Cuisine of Gourmet’s Cooking Arts Center, Jennifer Day. “The Baileys Drinkable Desserts Challenge encourages people to start with Baileys Original Irish Cream or one of the two new Baileys flavors, and then use their imagination to find new ways to enhance the unique taste of Baileys Irish Cream while serving cocktails responsibly and with style.”

The fun and contemporary twist put on traditional desserts, making them drinkable, isn’t just for dining out. This cocktail and dessert trend, that is not only fun to drink but also delicious, can be made at home too!

Baileys is challenging America’s professional, amateur and aspiring mixologists to create their very own Drinkable Dessert using Baileys Original Irish Cream or its two new flavors, Baileys Mint Chocolate and Baileys Caramel.

The Grand Prize winning amateur and professional will have their recipes and images featured in a Baileys advertisement in the April 2007 issue of Gourmet Magazine. Additionally, the top amateur will receive a trip to New York City with a guest for a private cooking class in the Gourmet Cooking Arts Center with Day.

The site offers a list of suggested ingredients and garnishes which can be mixed with a base of Baileys Original Irish Cream, Baileys Mint Chocolate and Baileys Caramel.

To spark the imagination, here’s a great recipe for a Drinkable Dessert using one of the new Baileys Flavors:
