Three Olives Loopy Vodka Review

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and yet we often neglect it for lack of time or convenience in the morning. That could all change once you try this new flavor from the fine folks at Proximo Spirits. Proximo is the parent company of Three Olives vodka, America’s fastest growing super-premium vodka which launched in 1998 and continues to be a major innovator in flavored vodka creation. Three Olives is wheat and gluten free, as well as lactose free and vegan. They currently hold 20+ products in their portfolio and are constantly adding to it.
Three Olives latest flavor should taste VERY familiar to most of us. If the name didn’t give it away, the bright and colorful “O’s” on the label should do the trick. It’s Froot Loop flavored vodka and although it sounds crazy, so did just about every other flavor of vodka that has become a staple behind the bar (think whipped cream, marshmallow, sweet tea). Three Olives themselves describe Loopy as “A dastardly delicious medley of tropical fruit and imported English vodka”. Dastardly delicious might just be the understatement of the year. From the tropical red berries to the strong scent of citrus, this one hits all the right notes to create a tasty vodka and completely emulate the taste/aroma of a fresh bowl of Froot Loops in the morning. Don’t worry, we wont think less of you if you break out the milk with this one but if your pour it in a bowl and try drinking it with a spoon, consider yourself judged.
Here are the tasting notes for Three Olives Loopy:
Appearance: Crystal clear.

Nose: Very strong notes of lemon followed by subtle hints of raspberry.

Palate:  Fruity and sweet but not overly done. Flavor meshes well with the burn of the alcohol to create a nice balance.

Rating:  Good spirit. You’ll either love this or hate this depending on your childhood (or adult) appreciation for Froot Loop cereal. Three Olives perfectly captures the taste and aroma to create a unique and great tasting spirit. Though you might question it’s ability to last, it mixes well with many popular mixes such as cranberry or lemon lime soda and can put an interesting twist on several vodka cocktail favorites. At a reasonable price of about $17.99, and at a respectful 70 proof, this one is a winner in my book.
