5-6 strips of cooked bacon, drained
1 bottle premium vodka

Add bacon to the mason jar and fill with vodka. Let the bacon steep in the vodka for a few days in a very cool place or the fridge. After the vodka … Read more

Craptails: The 10 Worst Cocktails

Jame Norton of Chow, put together this rather frightening list of truly awful drinks. The cocktails range from disgusting (e.g., the salmon colada: all the trappings of the original plus fresh salmon), the wacky (Hot “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Buttered Rum”: just what you think), and the downright bizarre (Crazy Grapes: involves Everclear, white wine, grapes, juice, a power drill, an eyedropper, toothpicks, an Ikebana stand and matches).

The whole lot may be gross, … Read more

6 cups canola oil, for deep frying
1 cup very thinly sliced elephant garlic cloves (about 1/8-inch slivers)
4 rosemary branches

For the Fried Garlic: In a heavy 2-quart pot, heat the … Read more
