September is Bourbon Heritage Month!

Did you know? The U.S. Senate signed “Bourbon Heritage Month” into law in 2007, reinforcing the 1964 Act of Congress that declared bourbon “America’s Native Spirit”.

Bourbon production has more than doubled since 1999 and the state of Kentucky currently has 4.9 million barrels gently aging, the highest inventory since 1978. That’s about 262 million gallons of Bourbon. There’s 2 more facts for you!

Golden Gate 75

This Sunday marks the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge.  To honor the occasion, our friend and fellow San Franciscan, Camper English, created The Golden Gate 75.  A riff on the classic French 75, Camper replaces the Gin and Lemon for Campari and Orange Juice, giving the cocktail the same hue as the famous span.

Created by Brandon Josie (15 Romolo) and Susan Eggett (Forbidden Island) for the Effen Vodka Art of Design Mixologist Contest. The Little Briar Rose was the winner in San Francisco, 2011.

Ingredients:
1 ½ oz EFFEN® Vodka Black Cherry
½ oz Gran Classico
¾ oz lemon juice
½ oz Limoncello
¾ simple syrup
1 dash of black walnut bitters
1 Pinch of Rosemary
