The National Restaurant Association invites professional mixologists to show off their most creative cocktail talents using American Harvest Organic Vodka to vie for the sought-after title of Star of the Bar. The competition, which features a $5,000 cash prize, will take place at the International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event (IWSB) at NRA Show 2013 with the winner being selected at the Restaurants Rock party on Sunday, May 19 2013

The Tempest Bar in San Francisco was the site a Jerk Off competition, a Soda Jerk competition. This past week marked the 10th installment of New Orleans mixology orgy, Tales of the Cocktail. It is by far the largest celebration of cocktail culture in the country. Tales (as it called by ‘vets’) is a who’s who of bartenders, journalists and brands. It is a wonderland for up and coming barterers and enthusiasts.
Friday night kicked off the soiree with the Opening Gala, an event that takes over the entire New York Public Library and is attended by thousands of people. Literally, at the Gala, hundreds of classic and innovative cocktails are served.
