Jimmy Russell’s Mint Julep

I had the pleasure to meet Wild Turkey Master Distiller Jimmy Russell at this past Fall’s whiskeyfest. Jimmy is a true legend in bourbon distilling, having been at it for 54 years. One thing Jimmy has learned in his years is that the perfect cocktail for the Kentucky Derby is the Mint Julep.

With 54 Derbies under his belt, Russell’s Julep has been precisely refined. He uses his higher proof of Wild Turkey 101, which … Read more

Not South Park, Colorado, but the famous few blocks of San Francisco that is the epicenter of Web 2.0. Energy drinks aren’t one of the fastest-growing segments of the beverage industry for nothing and their displays at the Nightclub and Bar Show were enough to keep us going all day and all night! Make St. Patrick’s Day An Official Holiday

This year, Guinness is taking the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day well beyond wearing green and pinching those who don’t. In response to overwhelming public sentiment, Guinness is supporting Proposition 3-17, a national movement to make St. Patrick’s Day an officially-recognized holiday.

The world’s most famous Irish stout aims to collect at least one million petitioned signatures by midnight on March 16; if successful, the Guinness Brewmaster will fly to Washington D.C. on St. Patrick’s … Read more

Tao – Las Vegas

Tao Night Club in the Venetian Hotel is amazingly decorated with an Asian theme. Think lots of candles and lots of Buddhas, kinda like a Temple. This three-story behemoth of a club was ranked one of the top 100 bars and clubs in the US for 2007. (The photo above is from the balcony. Nice view!)

Super Bowl Sunday in the Marina

Final Final

OK, so the name suggests that this should be the last stop. However, being the farthest away from home, we made it our first. I also chose the Final Final because it is one of my favorite sports bars in the San Francisco. It has tons of good quality flat screens, pool tables, some decent bar food and good strong drinks! It is also complete with all of the essential sports bar paraphernalia, … Read more
