B&B (Blakberi & Basil)

Memorial Day is right around the corner and our friends at Stoli have made a bunch of refreshing new summer cocktails featuring new Stoli Blakberi. Here’s the first:

Ingredients

1 part Stoli Blakberi
Top off with Italian sparkling lemonade
Basil to taste muddled with Stoli Blakberi

Instructions

Serve on rocks and top off with Italian sparkling lemonade. Garnish with additional basil leaves. A great option for warm-weather pitcher drinks.

The Perfect Mint Julep

Just in time for the derby, this involved, but oh so worth it julep recipe comes to us form the folks at Maker’s Mark. I think they know a bit about mint juleps.

Ingredients

    1 liter Makers Mark
    Lots of fresh spearmint
    Distilled water
    Granulated sugar
    Powdered sugar

Smoky Martini – Palomino, San Francisco

After a meeting, we ended up at Palomino on San Francisco’s Embarcadero.The place is known for a great bar, wonderful bay views and innovative cocktails. This is Toni’s favorite summer cocktail. I know it is a bit early, but Memorial Day is just around the corner. (We just love summer.)

Ingredients

    1 ½ oz White Bacardi rum (or your favorite rum)
    1 lemon
    Salt
    Coke
    Squirt

Apple Pie Shot

Elizabeth sent us this “build in the mouth” shot. Yes, you mix it right into the drinkers mouth. Of course, shaken over ice and served in a shot glass works too.

Ingredients

    ½ oz Captain Morgan spiced rum
    ½ oz apple juice
    Whipped cream
    Cinnamon

Instructions

Pour apple juice into mouth, followed by the Captain Morgan, and top it off with some whipped cream and cinnamon. Close mouth and swish and swallow.

Soda water
