Dubonnet was created in the 1840s as a way to make Quinine more palatable for French Foreign Legion Troops. The Quinine helps fight Malaria. The Dubonnet Cocktail surfaced in the early 1900s. This drink comes to us from the Pharmacy Restaurant and Bar via Kahlua. It’s the original Espresso Martini and was allegedly developed by a super model’s request to make a drink that would “wake me up and fuck me up”. This drink delivers on that promise.
