Autumn is my favorite season. The weather is mild but not yet cold. Nature changes colors. And it’s time for apple drinks!
The Harvest Highball uses apple cider, ginger liqueur, rye whiskey, and just a touch of cinnamon. It is a crisp, dry cocktail with an apple overtone and a ginger kick. The cinnamon and apple mixed just enough to make me think of fresh baked apple pie.
Ingredients
Oh my, it is cold everywhere. So cold that some have declared Global Warming over! Of course, we know it is cold because it is winter here in the Northern Hemisphere. So what does this have to do with cocktails? Nothing, except this little number will warm you up. Made with Tuaca, a 70-proof brandy-based Italian liqueur with flavors of vanilla and orange.
Our version of the Apple Martini. This popular martini may have help save the Martini! The ladies love the sweetness, guys like the bite. Adjust the apple pucker to taste and keep it really cold. It’s best to chill both the vodka and the apple pucker.
Reader Maderia (kinda like the wine) wanted to share this warm holiday treat with everyone. The combination of spiced rum and apple cider conspire to warm your insides on a cold winter day.
