Hudson New York Corn Whiskey Review

post icon

Hudson New York Corn Whiskey was one of the first whiskeys made in New York State following prohibition.

From the distiller, “We double distill the corn mash pure and simple. No other flavors or sugar added. It’s then bottled at 46% without charcoal or chill filtering, giving the crystal clear whiskey a silky smooth, creamy and clean drinking experience. It’s also distinctly corny – just like your wise-cracking uncle. Cut the wax and pour.”

New York Corn Whiskey is the foundation of Hudson’s other whiskeys

Appearance:  clear, water-white, colorless with thick legs

Nose:  Clean, light, unpaged with layered delicacy of sweet corn, cereal, bison grass, white flowers, rock candy

Palate:  Dry, soft alcohol, medium minus body, medium flavor intensity of the same flavors on the nose with the cereal more pronounced and less corn. Medium plus finish with moderate complexity of lingering notes of sweet corn and cereal.

Rating:  Good quality spirit.  Very good quality for the category of white whiskey.
