Happy Holidays from Drink of the Week!
1/2 oz ginger syrup*
4 to 6 oz sparkling wine
Pour ginger syrup in the bottom of a Champagne flute or coupe, the top off with sparkling wine to taste.
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and grated
Boil ginger, sugar and water for about 2 minutes (until it has a thick syrup texture). Strain out the solids. Add a tablespoon of vodka to preserve the syrup, if you’ll be storing it longer than a week. This recipe makes enough for use in 8 cocktails.
