This drink was popularized by Dale DeGroff at the Rainbow Room in the early 1990′s. He served it to Madonna and entourage one night after the Grammy’s. The media loved the sight of the Material Girl sipping on the pink cocktail and the rest is history. Here’s hes recipe:

1 1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz. Cointreau
3/4 oz. Cranberry Juice
1/4 oz. Lime Juice

Combine all ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with flamed orange peel
