The Obituary Cocktail is a New Orleans classic believed to have been invented at Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop in the French Quarter. Try it with Bluecoat American gin and Vieux Carre Absinthe, which was developed as homage to the neighborhood where the drink was born.
- 2 oz Bluecoat American gin
- ¾ oz dry vermouth
- ¾ oz Vieux Carré absinthe
Combine with cracked ice in a cocktail shaker. Stir then strain into a chilled cocktail glass; no garnish.
