Tequila Cocktails Galore

Margaritas.jpgJust in time for Cinco de Mayo a slew of drinks from our friends at Tezon.

Completo
Tequila Tezón Reposado with Sangrita (below)

Served in Pair of Shot Glasses

Sangrita:
1 Lt. Tomato juice.
½ Lt. Fresh Orange Juice.
250 ml. Fresh Lemon Juice.
30 ml. Spicy sauce Valentina.
20 ml. Worchester sauce.
30 ml. Grenadine Syrup.
20 ml. Season sauce (Maggi).
20 ml. Tabasco sauce.
1 Little tablespoon of salt.
250 ml. Grapefruit soda.

Jamaica (Hibiscus) Margarita

Chill glass
Into Iced Shaker:
2 Shots Chilled/Sweet Agua de Jamaica (see below)
1 Shot Tequila Tezón Blanco
Shot Simple Syrup
Juice 1/2 lime

Shake very well, Strain to glass
Garnish Lime Wedge

Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus)
Ingredients:
2 cups (2 ounces) jamaica flowers
3/4 cup granulated sugar (or more as desired)

Bring 6 cups of water to a boil then add the flowers and the sugar and stir continuously while the mixture boils for one minute. Pour into a noncorrosive bowl and steep for 2 hours. *Note: this flower will stain so don’t use a bowl that will stain.
Finish:
Strain the mixture through a sieve pressing on the flower solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Taste for strength and sweetness. If it is too potent, add water or if too tart add more sugar. Cover and refrigerate until time to serve.

Tezon Raspberry Margarita

2 oz. Tequila Tezón Blanco
1 cup fresh raspberries
1/2 oz. orange juice
1/2 oz. agave nectar
Juice of ½ lemon

Blend in blender with ice and serve in a champagne flute.

Mexican Hot Chocolate

2 cups milk
1 disk of Ibarra chocolate
Whipped Cream
Tequila Tezón Blanco

Warm the milk and chocolate in a saucepan. Stir with a molinillo or whisk until the chocolate is melted and the mixture begins to boil. Remove from the heat and froth the chocolate with the molinillo or the whisk. Serve immediately in demi-tasse: 5 parts hot chocolate to 1 part Tequila Tezón Blanco. Finish with dollop of whipped cream.

Dulce de Tezón

2 oz. Tequila Tezón Reposado
1 oz. Martell cognac
1 oz. Cointreau
.5 oz Lime juice
1 tbsp. Agave nectar
Large-grained sugar

Sugar on rim; garnish with lemon wedge.


Tezon Caramel Apple Pie

1 oz. Tequila Tezon
1/2 oz. Hiram Walker Butterscotch Schnapps
1 oz. Apple Cider
1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice

Shake vigorously with ice and strain into martini glass. Garnish with Apple Slice

Tezón Besitos

1.5 parts Tequila Tezón Anejo
1 part Limoncello
1 part Stoli Citros
Dash of grenadine
Juice of half a lemon

Shake well and serve up in a martini glass, garnish with a gummy heart.

Toronha (named after Toronja – grapefruit in Spanish and the Tahona H)

2 oz. Tequila Tezón
2 oz. Grapefruit juice
1 tbsp Grenadine
.5 oz. Triple sec

Mix in a blender over ice and strain into a sour glass.

Tezón Grenada

1 oz. Tequila Tezón
Splash of Grapefruit juice
Splash of Grenadine

Pour tequila in highball glass, fill with grapefruit juice and top with grenadine.

Icebreaker
2 oz. Tequila Tezón
2 oz. Grapefruit juice
1 tbsp Grenadine
.5 oz. Triple sec

Mix in a blender over ice and strain into a sour glass.

Tezón Bloody Maria

2 parts Tequila Tezón Blanco
Fill glass with your favorite Bloody Mary mix
Sprinkle coarse black pepper

Serve in a highball glass over ice and garnish with a lime wedge, celery and cherry tomatoes.
