Presidio Yacht Club
Yes, this is the view from the bar at the Presidio Yacht Club in Sausalito, CA. Located on the site of the now closed Fort Baker, the former officer club serves as one of the best locales for a bar anywhere. The bar is open to the public, although some nights are reserved for Military. The place hosts all the trappings of a Yacht Club and former officers club (i.e. cool memorabilia) a pool table, comfy arm chairs and even some live music for the 50 - 60 crowd on Fridays.
If you find yourself driving north on the Golden Gate Bridge, take the first exit and follow the signs to Fort Baker, keep to the left of the Bay Area Discovery Museum and take the road towards the water. The Bar is on the second floor of the old officers club. After enjoying one of the fine beers they have tap, drinking in the views and maybe even trying one a fresh grilled burger, leave and tell no one. We don’t want the place over run!

Seriously…. SERIOUSLY…..
“drinking in the views and maybe even trying one a fresh grilled burger, leave and tell no one. We don’t want the place over run!”
Why even write about it then? Please don’t go here unless you know how to sail.
(tongue in cheek elitist poopery on my part, but I will screw up here and say it is the best bar in the entire Bay, hands down, and it would devastate me if it became overrun. With the new hotel, it sure will be!!!)
