Campari Review

A favorite of bartenders across the globe! We have heard that bartenders test the skills of another bartender based on the quality of his or her Negroni.

Campari is a bitter spirit that is made from over 60 herbs and spices. If you try hard, you can pick out a few. For me, the easiest one to spot is the quinine, which is one of the herbs that gives Campari its bitter quality. Campari has been produced in Italy since 1860 and like Coca Cola, allegedly only one person knows the recipe.

Campari is a great spirit for the holidays. It’s the perfect color for Christmas. And, you can serve it to Santa as an appertif before the cookie binge. Hopefully, it will help him settle his stomach (after all those cookies are gone)!

Clear with a medium color of intense, bright ruby red. On the nose, a pronounced intensity of bitter orange, lemon, quinine, gentian, cinnamon, cardamon, angelica and a host of other aromas. On the palate, a thick, glycerol mouth feel with a pronounced flavor intensity of bitter orange, lemon, quinine, gentian, cinnamon, cardamon, angelica and a number of other flavors. Long finish. Exemplifies sweet and bitter. Outstanding spirit. A must for any bar.
