Hangover Helper - Pediasure

Not just for kids. My friend swears that Pediasure is the best hangover helper around. Makes sense, this stuff is specially formulated to give kids a ton of nutrients in one bottle. What could be better after a night of drinking, if it is good for kids it's gotta be good for your sorry drunk ass self.

Men Can Drink More Alcohol Than Women

Accoding to 20/20, this is not just a sexist myth. Men are biologically better equipped to drink more than women. Take that ladies ;). Turns out us guys have more of an enzyme in the lining of our stomachs that, when it sees alcohol, begins to metabolize it immediately. This means that only about 1/2 of the Alcohol men drink gets in to the blood stream. Ain't science fun?

Vodka Lake
Can you imagine a Lake Full of Vodka? Sounds better than Snakes on a Plane. Well it was reality recently in Poland, where a leak at a distillery in the town of Wielkopolska made a local lake almost 30% Vodka. Almost as strong as a regular bottle and 3 times that of wine. The townsfolk have flocked to the lake filling whatever they can find with the lake. Says one 71 year old resident, "If God doesn't help, everyone will be a drunkard with only a hole where the lake was." They say Free booze is the best booze, just beware of fish and other lake dwellers as you drink.

Pinky Vodka
New from Sweden. Flavored with a mix of wild strawberries, rose petals, violets and 12 other botanicals. Dubbed by it's makers as the Most Beautiful Vodka, I am sure it makes a wonderful martini. Can't wait to get a bottle. (hint, hint if any Pinky promo folks are reading) Right now it is only available at stores in Southern California, mostly LA. I'll bet this is gonna be real popular with the Hollywood club set, if it isn't already. Surely, it won't long before I can try Pinky here in chilly SF.

In true blogger fashion, Melanie found this at peepculture by way of Bottle Watch. Pinky Vodka is available here.

Thanks Melanie!

Turkey Cannon
This is the grilling product of the summer. This contraption allows you to easily make "beer can" chicken or turkey. The Turkey Cannon elevates the bird with a cylinder filled with the beverage of your beer, wine, liquor, even soda of your liking. I'm thinking bourbon infused turkey, chicken with all kinds of wine and beer and maybe even duck grilled with a nice raspberry lambic.

World Cup Shots
It is time once again for soccer or football as the rest of the world call it. This time we are in Germany , and you know what that means? Yes, Jagermeister! Although, I think we over here are the sucker who down most of this awful cough syrup. For some reason, I loved it in college, but that was a long time ago. Jager is just to heavy, too sweet. It definately needs the right frame of mind. This review may be a bit harsh, I'll share this Jager review from Googleism anyway. Apologies to frat guys everywhere, keep drinking boys.

Let us know your favorite German Drink or Soccer watchin'cocktail.

Cheers!

Bacardi Brings the Bar to You
Bacardi launced a new service in the UK that brings the bar to your home, office or bar(?). The service, dubded Bacardi Bespoke is "a prestige service for the House party generation. All those involved, from the Mixology team to the DJs and production designers, are leaders in their fields. And most importantly weve got you, our party hosts."

We didn't register so I don't know what kinda scratch it takes to get these guys to come over. If you are one of our UK readers. try 'em out and let us know.

The best feature of the site is a gallery of Vintage Bacardi Ads. Well worth a visit.

How Many Cocktails?
I was up late last night watching this show "Secret Life of... Cocktails", a great history of cocktails. If you get a chance it is worth the 3o minutes. The part of the show for me is when they were theorizing on how many cocktail recipes are out there? Hundreds, Thousands, Millions? Someone tried to figure out the number of cocktail combinations that could be made out of the ingredients at your average bar. The answer - over 17 Million. And that is an average bar. Holy shit, I got some work to do on this site. I'm gonna be up all night.

Jose Cuervo - National Flavors Day
Did anyone hear about this? Not only has Cuervo introduced flavored Tequila (Yes, another sign of the apocalypse), but they named a day after it. To celebrate, Cuervo hired a bunch of "models" painted them Green, Blue or Orange and let them loose on the streets on Manhattan, Chicago and San Francisco. Green represented Cirtrico, Lime flavored Tequila, Blue - Tropino, Pineapple Tequila and Orange for Oranjo, which is of course Orange flavored.

See some more pictures from National Flavors Day and try some new cocktail recipes made with Cuervo's new Tequilas. As always, let me know what you think if the stuff.
