Mexican Hot Chocolate - This Week’s Drink Recipe
Thursday, November 15th, 2007OK, I took a bit of a break, but I’ve been traveling. Got that old day job to take care of, ya know. While I was back in New York City, I needed this week’s drink to combat the chill and quench my thirst for Tequila.
Tequila (this recipe uses Hornitos Plata)
2 cups milk
1 disk of Mexican chocolate
Whipped cream
Warm the milk and chocolate in a saucepan. Stir with a whisk until the chocolate is melted and the mixture begins to boil. Remove from the heat and froth the chocolate with a whisk.
Add one part Hornitos Plata for every five parts of hot chocolate. Finish with dollop of whipped cream.

Halloween is one of our favorites holidays and we spend a good deal of October getting ready for this spooky night.
Tequila Herradura, one of the world’s most revered and storied premium tequila, is featuring the Herradura Charro Negro, referring to the traditional cowboy of Mexico who sometimes dresses in black when mourning a loved one, as its drink of the month in recognition of the holiday.
OK, I know this site is about cocktails, not College Football. However, being a huge fan of both, I felt the need to share this clever list of rules from ESPN.com’s Page 2.
We created this drink specially for the hard working folks at Lijit, who when not helping you to find great cocktails on Drink of the Week, enjoy Tequila and Midori.
As we slide into the heat of August (actually it is cold a foggy here in ess-eff) we found this great collection over on at FoodNetwork.com. They have 3 years worth of cool cocktails to go through, we love the Long Island Green Tea (pictured: photo FoodNetwork.com).
