Elizabeth sent us this “build in the mouth” shot. Yes, you mix it right into the drinkers mouth. Of course, shaken over ice and served in a shot glass works too.
Apple Pie Shot
1/2 oz. Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
1/2 oz. Apple Juice
Whipped Cream
Cinnamon
Pour apple juice into mouth, followed by the captain morgan, top it off with some whipped cream and cinnamon. Close mouth and swish and swallow.
*Sounds disgusting…tastes amazing!
Tammy thought we needed to post more shot drink recipes, so she sent us the Funky Monkey. This shot is an even mix of Banana Liqueur, Coconut Rum and Bailey’s. Yummm.

I was already to sit down and write my own drinking game for the Super Bowl, but I ran across this on le basketbawl an NBA blog of all things, but this guy nailed it. So why recreate the wheel? I got drinking to do!
Here ’s my favorites.
Chug your beer ( or take a shot ) every time:
- You see Peyton Manning in a commercial. Good Luck!
- The camera finds its way onto the Manning Family. I doubt you’ll make it through the first half with this one!
- An announcer makes reference to Gisele Bundchen!
- Randy Moss is noted as now being a hard worker or mature.
- Bill Parcells is brought up.
- You hear a player is giving it “110%”!
- You hear the word “Dynasty.”
- The Miami Dolphins or Don Shula or champagne are mentioned.
- “American Idol” is mentioned.
- Vince Lombardi’s name is brought up.
and one of my own:
Joe Buck forgets that Eli Manning isn’t Payton and calls him Payton.
Thanks you all for all the great cocktail recipes you send us everyday. We get so many it is hard to mention them all, so we decided to do a regular post about all the new drinks we get. How regular, well this is a drinking site, so we will do our best. As for you? Keep the recipes coming! Got an awesome holiday recipe? Share it.
This is the best holiday party item we’ve see yet! This pair of shot glasses, made of real candy cane, are perfect for a hefty serving of cinnamon or peppermint schnapps.
We recommend serving our Candy Cane shot in these ever so Holiday of vessels.
We know how you all love shots! The simple shot of whiskey, gin, brandy, rum, tequila, vodka and many other spirits was the way we drank our spirits for thousands of years prior to mixing things up with the cocktail. Now the shot has grown with cocktails to a dizzying number of combinations. A must for any party, shots have a firm place in drinking musts.
To help kick off the holiday season, we’ve put together a starter collection of shots. We encourage you to share your favorite shot recipe as well.
Chatting with the nice folks over at Instrucatbles about Halloween. I was telling them how I was looking a fun, easy and adult Halloween drinking game to share with all of you. Leah, one of the great problem solvers they have over thee took the challenge and quickly came up with this dastardly contest. The game is, called what else, Trick or Treat, except instead of collecting loads of candy around the neighborhood, this one live up to it name.
Here’s how it works:
1) The bartender serves to identical looking drinks. One shot is the trick (as in nasty) one is the treat (as in tasty).
2) The player chooses one, if they get tricked and he/she holds it down, the good shot is free.
Another variation we came up with is a bit more interactive.
Instead of two drinks, there is just one and it can be good or gross. The player starts by picking from a pumpkin a slip of paper with one of many embassing things that you can do at a bar (kiss a stranger, dance on the bar, etc…). They player reads the task aloud to the crowd. The player then can choose either do the task or take the shot, not knowing if it is a trick or treat.
