Tao - Las Vegas

tao Las Vegas

Tao Night Club in the Venetian Hotel is amazingly decorated with an Asian theme. Think lots of candles and lots of Buddhas, kinda like a Temple. This 3 story behemoth of a Club was ranked one of the top 100 bars and clubs in the US for 2007. (the photo is from the balcony, nice view!)

The Franciscan - San Francisco

the Franciscan

The Franciscan is a San Francisco classic located right in the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf. I feel it has the best food, views and martinis on the Wharf.

Buckeye Roadhouse - Mill Valley, CA

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Great spot on the 101 in Marin where Sausalito and Mill Valley meet. It is a classic American roadhouse, with a Nor Cal twist. Lots of wood, leather and stuffed animals on the walls. Plus it has great food and greater Martinis!

A beautiful spot on the Sausalito Marina just off of Bridgeway with good food, large Martinis and incredible views. Highly recommended at sunset.

Anu - San Francisco

This former dive bar has been a favorite of mine for sometime. With friendly bartenders, infused vodka and kicking beats, Anu is an island of calm in the sea that is 6th Street in San Francisco.

Super Bowl Sunday in the Marina

Final Final

OK, so the name suggests that this should be the last stop. However, being the farthest away from home, we made it our first. I also chose the Final Final because it is one of my favorite sports bars in the San Francisco. It has tons of good quality flat screens, pool tables, some decent bar food and good strong drinks! It is also complete with all of the essential sports bar paraphernalia, including a collection a collection of 1970’s NFL helmets ringing the bar.

Monaghan’s

Our next stop sits right in the heart of the Marina District and is a regular spot for us. This bar used be called Windows, but was revived as Monaghan’s, an Irish Bar. It is loaded with drink specials, large TV’s and a young, fun crowd. The bar also hosts weekly trivia contests, which is a night I hate to miss. A quick shout out to Rick the Quiz Master.

Sloppy Joe’s - Key West

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

Windows Mobile is going to help us chronicle our many travels to bars and events around the globe with their mobile and mapping technology. To kick this off and it being cold every except Florida and Hawaii these days, what would be more perfect than to visit Hemingway hangout in sunny, warm Key West institution Sloppy Joe’s Bar.

Located at Greene & Duval Streets in the heart of Key West, Sloppy Joe’s has been delighting local and tourists since December 5th, 1933 the very day they repealed prohibition. As for Hemingway, his house was just down the street.

“Hemingway and his “Mob” of cohorts were enthusiastic regular customers. In fact, the author once called himself a co-owner or silent partner in the enterprise. The “Mob” was comprised of some of the literary lights of the day as well as a variety of famous and infamous local residents”

Make sure visit Sloppy Joe’s nest time you find yourself in Key West and hoist one for Papa!

If your stuck at home you can still enjoy the fun with their series of webcams focused on the stage, bar and Duval Street.
