It’s Presidents Day! Not all of out Commanders-in-Chief have been drinkers but many have. Several, such as Thomas Jefferson, ran distilleries as part of their households. This was very common in those days. President Bush is said to have given it up; I guess it got out of control. Here’s a few of what other Presidents preferred:

Gerald Ford: Gin and Tonic
Herbert Hoover: Martini
Richard Nixon: Rum & Coke
Franklin D. Roosevelt: Scotch or Brandy
Harry Truman: Bourbon
Lyndon Johnson: Scotch and Soda
Warren Harding: Everything
